I save Christmas cards every year in a golden, star-shaped basket that once contained a long forgotten gift of food or cookies or some such thing. I can’t throw them away.
Each card tells story – it gives us a glimpse into the lives of those we love best. Sometimes there are photos, sometimes there are clever poems and letters…I love receiving each and every one.
Notes from loved ones, long since gone, are like little time capsules filled with joy and remembering. It’s so much fun to look back at the old ones each year as I add new ones to the stash of cards.
The number of cards we send out now has dwindled a bit as we have lost loved ones over the years, but we will never forget them and we treasure their cards the most.
Thank you to those who have sent us greetings over the years – and know that they are still here among the memories we keep.
